Anita Mui’s fans visit temples in Kowloon, Lantau Island to mark 41st anniversary of singer’s debut
> Kwong Wah Yit Poh reported that fans of the late Hong Kong singer Anita Mui visited the Shang Sin Chun Tong temples in Kowloon and Lantau Island on Tuesday to commemorate the 41st anniversary of the singer’s debut.
These members of Anita Mui’s International Fan Club performed prayers and brought fruits, bouquets and various food such as sushi, milk tea and potato chips for her.
At night, the club also played some of her songs online.
Mui died of cervical cancer on Dec 30, 2003, at the age of 40. She began her career in the first New Talent Singing Competition in 1982 and shot to stardom with her vocal and dancing skills.
She is regarded as one of the most iconic Cantopop singers.
