Cops confirm violent altercation at district police HQ entrance
KUALA LUMPUR: Police have confirmed that there was a violent altercation at the entrance of a district headquarters on Friday (Aug 11).
Deputy Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay said the incident occurred in a state on the peninsula’s east coast.
“We are still investigating the matter. A video which went viral only partially showed the incident. Something might have happened beforehand.
“I cannot comment further as the investigation is ongoing,” he told a press conference after visiting the SK Klang Gate voting centre during the state elections on Saturday (Aug 12).
This comes after an incident where a motorcycle rider wearing the flag of a political party was seemingly assaulted by two others in front of a police station.
The 14-second video of the incident also showed the man being punched by an individual while another pulled him off the motorcycle.
Another man was seen bringing the motorcycle to the police station.
