Malaysian students soar high in global rankings
IN the recent result release for the June 2023 examination session, students from (CAE), Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), ACCA Foundation in Accountancy and Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) programmes once again soared in the global rankings – receiving the world and Malaysia prizes recognition.
Lee Xian received the first place ACCA Affiliates in Malaysia, and is also ranked fifth worldwide and scored an average of 81.5 for Strategic Business Leader,
Strategic Business Reporting, Advanced Financial Management and Advanced Performance Management papers.
She also received four world and Malaysian prizes in previous examination sessions.
“I am surprised and thankful for receiving the awards. There will always be challenges in the things we do, and time management is what I find challenging while pursuing ACCA. However, I learnt to handle stress better over time as I progress,” says Lee.
Two students awarded first place in the world and Malaysia are Chan Wai Teng for Audit and Assurance, and Arif Aezuddin Zamri for Strategic Business Reporting.
Third-time world prize recipient Arif Aezuddin is delighted and grateful to receive the award.

Other recipients of the first place in Malaysia prizes are Tan Ho Xin and Jim Xue Le for Financial Management; Mok Bing Heng for Financial Reporting; Chin Ling Xuan for Taxation Malaysia; Ng Jia Zheng for Advanced Taxation Malaysia; and Chong Poh Yee for Advanced Audit and Assurance.
ACCA Foundation in Accountancy (FIA) Malaysia prize winners who are ranked first place included Izwan Hatim for Recording Financial Transactions; Benjamin Lee Khai Seng for Management Information; Muhammad Ryan Daniel Mohd Razman for Maintaining Costs and Finance; and Too Lik Yong and Nuranisah Mohd Aswi for Financial Accounting.
Fourth-time world prize winner ICAEW International Subject Orders of Merit recipient Mandy Lai received first place and the Knox prize for Tax Compliance subject.
“I still feel overwhelmed with happiness this time, knowing that my hard work had paid off. I will continue to work hard and develop necessary skills beyond classrooms for my career.”
Also awarded joint first place and the Spicer and Pegler prize was Siti Sarah Ahmad Lutpi for Financial Accounting and Reporting.
