Over the past few years, 38-year-old Hong Kong singer Steven Cheung‘s messy family life and relationship drama have been plastered all over entertainment news sites.
The singer, who was one-half of Cantopop duo Boyz, soon fell into financial trouble, and had to pick up odd jobs in order to support his family.
Steven is married to model Au Man Man, 32, and they have three sons together. In July, Man Man shared on social media that the couple is expecting their fourth child together.
At that time, reports shared that Steven was working at a snack shop to provide for his family. Netizens would later criticise the couple for wanting a fourth child despite struggling to make ends meet.
Now, it seems like Steven has found another way to make money, ahead of the child’s birth.
In an Instagram post on August 26, Steven revealed that he was distributing flyers and condoms in Paterson Street, Causeway Bay. He also encouraged everyone to drop by and pick up a flyer or two from him.
The promotion appeared to be paid for by a local hotel booking app, and their tongue-in-cheek promotion was very well received.
Some netizens praised Steven for continuously picking up all sorts of jobs to support his family, while others took the opportunity to make a sly dig at Steven. They said it was ironic he was giving out condoms, since, you know, it seems like he needs them more than they do.
