Fisherman saves woman who fell from Penang Bridge

GEORGE TOWN: A 23-year-old woman who fell from the Penang Bridge early Wednesday (Aug 30) has been rescued by a fisherman.

According to a statement by the Fire and Rescue Department, the woman was pulled from the sea at 4.52am.

“Firemen arrived at the scene at KM7.4 of the bridge, heading towards Prai, at 4.28am. We found that a person (had fallen) into the sea, leaving behind a car and personal documents.

“The victim was rescued by a fisherman who happened to be at the location, and she has since been handed over to the police,”said the Department.
