Barisan to give its all to win in Pelangai, says Dr Wee

PETALING JAYA: With the Pelangai state seat by-elections drawing near, Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong and other Barisan Nasional leaders are giving their all in hopes of securing a victory for the unity government.

In a Facebook post on Wednesday (Oct 4), the MCA president shared that he and other leaders within Barisan Nasional and the unity government had come together to show support for the Barisan candidate’s for Pelangai state by-election Datuk Amizar Abu Adam.

Dr Wee was joined by former MCA president Tan Sri Liow Tiong Lai, former MCA deputy president Tan Sri Lim Ah Lek as well as Pahang MCA chairman Datuk Sri Hoh Khai Mun and Bentong MCA division chairman Datuk Kang Meng Fuat.

MIC vice-presidents Datuk A. Kohilan Pillay and Datuk T. Murugiah was also present as the fellow Barisan heavyweights campaigned for Amizar at a temple in Kampung Baru Manchis on Wednesday.

They were also joined by Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing, who was also the Progressive Democratic Party president, which was part of the unity government.

The upcoming by-election comes following the death of Umno assemblyman and Pahang exco member Datuk Seri Johari Harun in the tragic Elmina plane crash in Selangor on Aug 1.

The poll would see a three-cornered fight involving Amizar, Perikatan Nasional’s Kasim Samat and Independent candidate Haslihelmy DM Zulhasni.

Polling day is set for this upcoming Saturday (Oct 7).
