Android users will soon be able to link two WhatsApp accounts on one device
Meta is rolling out a new feature that enables Android users to manage multiple WhatsApp accounts on a single device.
To access this feature, users must have either a second phone number and SIM card, or a phone that accepts multi-SIM or eSIM. This step is essential to associate the second WhatsApp account with a valid phone number, in accordance with the service platform’s policies.
Users can activate this feature by heading to their WhatsApp settings, tapping on the arrow next to their name, and selecting “Add account”.
Upon activation, users will receive a one-time passcode via SMS that will be sent to the second phone or its SIM card. After completing this initial verification process, users can then operate both accounts without requiring the second device or SIM.
This new feature aims to eliminate the need for users to carry an extra device or go through the hassle of logging in and out of their accounts when switching between different accounts for varying purposes.
As of now, it remains unclear if and when this feature will be extended to iOS and PC devices.
