Bersatu lawmakers being wooed to switch support, alleges Armada chief

KUALA LUMPUR: There is an organised move by the Unity Government leaders to woo Bersatu lawmakers with promises of financial assistance for their constituents to gain the opposition MPs’ support, alleges Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal (pic).

The Bersatu Youth chief claims that such promises of financial gains were also given to the lawmakers for personal use by certain “operators” allegedly working for the unity government to attract support from the party members.

“There is a video showing a bald individual threatening opposition MPs to support the Prime Minister.

“The video also explained the roles played by a former political secretary. The video was circulated on social media platform TikTok and Facebook,” he said in a press conference at the Parliament media room on Tuesday (Nov 14).

Wan Ahmad added that the four MPs were clearly pressured to comply after they were threatened with action from the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) if they did not pledge their support to the unity government.

“This action also insults the provisions of the Federal Constitution relating to the Anti-Hopping Law and contradicts democratic practices,” he said.

Wan Ahmad said the move began with Kuala Kangsar MP Datuk Iskandar Dzukarnain Abdul Khalid, followed by Labuan MP Datuk Suhaili Abdul Rahman, Gua Musang MP Mohd Azizi Abu Naim and Jeli MP Zahari Kechik.

After lodging a police report today (Nov 14), the party is expected to file a report with the MACC following claims of lucrative allocation offered to the Bersatu lawmakers by certain individuals claiming to be from the government side.
