Bersatu youth chief denies slandering Farhash
KUALA LUMPUR: Wan Ahmad Fayshal Wan Ahmad Kamal says he was just reading a police report and denies claims he slandered Datuk Farhash Wafa Salvador during a press conference on Tuesday (Nov 14).
The Bersatu youth chief pointed out the report was lodged by the party’s youth wing that included a video attachment that claimed an individual known as “Datuk Botak” was linked to the former political aide to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
“I did not slander (Farhash), I was just reading out the police report (during the press conference).”
On Tuesday (Nov 14), Farhash said he would lodge a police report against Wan Ahmad Fayshal for claiming he was involved in enticing Opposition MPs to support the government.
“Let the police investigate the claim. It was good he denied that yesterday (Nov 14),” said Wan Ahmad Fayshal.
However Wan Ahmad Fayshal said there was evidence purportedly showing ‘Datuk Botak’ enticing Perikatan Nasional’s lawmakers with promises, allocation and development in their constituencies.
The Machang MP presented a still photo of the individual talking with Langkawi MP Datuk Mohd Suhaimi Abdullah and Lumut MP Nordin Ahmad Ismail.
Wan Fayshal also claimed Labuan MP Datuk Suhaili Abd Rahman was also involved with ‘Datuk Botak’.
When asked if there was an audio recording between the Bersatu MP and the mysterious ‘Datuk Botak’, Wan Fayshal said they were collecting more evidence.
He added the party was also finalising details of their report to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).
