The Japanese have a thing for high school girls, so we can’t say we’re surprised that they have an annual pageant to find the cutest high school girl in the nation.
Called Miss Cutest High School Girl contest, or Miss Con, the finals were recently held in Tokyo and 16-year-old Risa Yonezawa, a first-year high school student from Hokkaido, beat thousands to snag the crown.
Cute, isn’t she?

This is first time Risa is participating in a pageant. She had secretly signed up for the competition and her mum was furious when she found out about it.
Thankfully, she warmed up to the idea and Risa believes that she was able to win the contest thanks to her mum’s help.
According to reports, Risa enjoys watching movies, dancing, and her favourite food is sukiyaki, though she isn’t a fan of vegetables.
The runner-up was Karin Sakaguchi, also known as Rintan, a second-year high school student from Okayama.
Now in its seventh edition, Miss Con attracted more than 40,000 applicants this year.
The popular contest is open to Japanese high school students between the ages of 16 and 18 years old and is seen as gateway to showbiz.
