Daughter Of Benz Hui Marries Singaporean Banker Beau In Star-Studded Hong Kong Wedding

Past and present TVB stars like Jessica Hsuan, Bobby Au Yueng, Roger Kwok, and Moses Chan were spotted at the banquet.

Last weekend must have been an auspicious one for weddings.

Besides the nuptials of local celebs Nick Teo and Hong LingJoel Choo and his missus, as well as TVB stars Kenneth Ma and Roxanne Tong, Hong Kong actor Benz Hui’s daughter Charmaine, 27, also tied the knot with her Singaporean fiancé Shane Sim, 28, in Hong Kong on Dec 16.

The festivities started in the day with a Chinese tea ceremony.

Charmaine, who dressed in an elaborate Chinese kua and Shane, a tang suit, served tea to Benz, 74, and his wife Angeli, 69, as well as to her the bride’s godparents, TVB actors To Yin Gor and wife Mary Hon.

The couple exchanged vows in a ceremony in the afternoon, followed by a star-studded dinner, where they hosted more than 20 tables in a banquet in the upmarket Happy Valley.

Celebs like Jessica HsuanBobby Au YuengElena KongRoger KwokFelix WongJoe MaMoses Chan and wife Aimee Chan, were spotted at the celebration.

According to reports, more than 20 people from Shane’s family flew in for the wedding and the couple will hold another banquet in Singapore on Jan 6.

When asked if he was reluctant to see his daughter getting married, Benz laughed: “No, I’m happy that someone will take care of her.”

He jokingly added that his wife had planned the wedding, and he “unfortunately” had to foot the bill.

Charmaine and Shane through mutual friends when she was 18 and the pair dated for six years before he proposed in September 2021.

Shane, who is currently working in the banking industry, has been dubbed an “academic overlord” by Hong Kong media.

He graduated from with a Master’s degree at The Hong Kong University of Science And Technology in 2022 and also holds a double degree in business in Business Administration and Industrial Engineering.

Charmaine is quite an achiever too.

She had intended to pursue her Master’s in the UK after graduating with first class honours from the HKBU School of Communication in 2020, but her plans were foiled by the pandemic.

Stuck in Singapore, she started her home bakery business Bakeaholic.

She opened her first café near their Yishun home just six months later, followed by a second outlet and mod cha chaan teng Juju at Wheelock Place in 2022.
