Electricity bills for users with electricity consumption from 601kWh to 1,500kh increased This measure is applicable to residential customers in Peninsular Malaysia with electricity consumption between 601 and 1,500kWh, which means the electricity bill ranges from RM220.36 to RM737.50 sen. The electricity bills for these users will increase between 4.2% and 6%, and are expected to increase by RM12 to RM32 per month. For example, a residential user with an electricity consumption of 601kWh currently has an electricity bill of RM220. After the government does not provide ICPT rebate, the electricity bill will increase to RM232.

Users with electricity consumption below 601kh will not be affected

It is worth noting that it is estimated that 85% of users in Peninsular Malaysia consume no more than 601kh of electricity. These residential users will not be affected and can continue to enjoy a rebate of RM0.02 per kwh. In addition, the government will continue to impose a surcharge of RM0.10 per kWh on residential users with electricity consumption exceeding 1,500kWh.
