Rahmah p-hailing package from as low as RM33, says Fahmi

KUALA LUMPUR: All p-hailing drivers and riders will enjoy internet services from as low as RM33 with a data plan of at least 40GB under a special package, says Fahmi Fadzil (pic).

The Communications Minister said the Rahmah p-hailing package, is part of the government’s effort to alleviate the burden and to show support to p-hailing drivers and riders.

Fahmi said the initiative is a testament to the government’s commitment in empowering the digital economy sector and to ensure that the p-hailing service could reach every corner of the country.

“Through this package, p-hailing drivers and riders can enjoy Internet services for as low as RM33 with a data plan of at least 40GB.

“Each package is unique and different according to the agreement of the telco chosen by the respective platform provider (B2B arrangement).

“What’s great is that the telco packages are tailored specifically to meet the needs of p-hailing riders and drivers to ensure that they have the necessary connectivity to perform their duties more efficiently and effectively,” he said when launching the package at RTM Angkasapuri here on Tuesday (Jan 23).

The telco companies involved in the Rahmah p-hailing package include CelcomDigi, Maxis, U Mobile, TM (Unifi Mobile) dan YTL Communications (Yes).

The package involved collaborations with 16 p-hailing platform provider companies, namely FoodPanda, Grab, Bungkusit, Halo Delivery, iHantar, Lalamove, MatDespatch, Parcel365, RideRunner, Shopee, Fasz Food, Lazada Logistics, Belibeli, iGoGet, GoGet and GoLog.
