Recycling firm owners remanded for bribing enforcement officer
SEREMBAN: The owners of two recycling companies here have been remanded for seven days over an alleged RM4,000 bribe to an enforcement officer.
The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission obtained the remand order on the duo on Tuesday (Jan 23) following an application by its prosecuting officer Zainab Yahya before magistrate Nurul Saqinah Rosli here.
The owners, in their 40s, allegedly banked the money into the officer’s account last year as an inducement to prevent a probe against them for an offence under the Solid Waste and Public Cleansing Management Act 2007.
They were represented by Redzuan Hakim Sulaiman from the Legal Aid Bureau.
