Harlem Yu & Annie Yi’s Son, 21, Reveals Reason For Dressing In Drag

Taiwanese stars Harlem Yu and ex-wife Annie Yi’s son, 21-year-old Harrison, doesn’t hold back when it comes to fashion.

Over the years, Harrison, a film major at the New York University Tisch School of the Arts, has been making waves with his bold fashion choices, particularly his penchant for dressing in drag.

He recently addressed his interest in drag in a two-minute video on Instagram.

He revealed that while he typically dresses in men’s clothing, he believes that beautiful clothes tanscends gender.

Citing examples from the 17th century where French men wore wigs and heels, he said, “Back then, it was considered handsome for men to dress that way. So why has it become different now? We living in the present and it’s something [many] have not realised, but if you look at history and the evolution of trends, you’ll realise how absurd these rules we abide by, and the unspoken rules imposed by society, are.”

Harrison then asked: “Why must we assign a gender to things? [Why do] certain things have to be assigned to a certain culture?”

For Harrison, cross-dressing is akin to putting on a show, a display of his personal style and choices. and challenging traditional ideas about what men and women should wear.

The second-gen star has received plenty of support for his ideals, with netizens praising his maturity and eloquence. A handful also commended Annie for “teaching her son well”.
