Video of man damaging food items in convenience store enrages Malaysians

PETALING JAYA: Malaysians are enraged with a man seen in a video damaging food items in a convenience store.

The 22-second clip has been shared on several social media platforms, prompting comments from the public calling for action to be taken against the perpetrator.

Tagging Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil and Home Minister Saifuddin Nasution Ismail, an X account user named @RajaMohdShahrim called for the authorities to identify the social media user.

He also urged the Home Ministry to instruct the police to arrest the man in the video.

The man in the video was heard uttering: “Cari pasal ya? (Looking for trouble?)”

Joseph Chan posted on the same thread: “This is too much!”

Another user @heiapeni said: “CCTV must have captured (the incident). Where’s the perpetrator?”

On Facebook, user Guy Laroche said: “If you want to boycott, then do it. But not to the extent of damaging the store’s goods. That’s haram (forbidden by religion) and sinful. Islam never taught this.”

Boy Aliyav wrote: “Hope the suspect can be identified and jailed.”

The video also shows the logos of companies KK Supermart and Xin Jian Chang Sdn Bhd who were involved in the commercial socks issue.

As of press time, the video, which was first posted by @edisiumat on TikTok, has been taken down.

However, the source of the original video could not be verified.
