Celebrities are no strangers to hate comments and online trolling. And fortunately for Taiwanese actress Amber An, she has learned to take them in her stride.
At a recent press conference for her new drama Girls Win 3, the 38-year-old star opened up about how haters used to get to her when she first entered showbiz.
“In the past, when they announced the cast for dramas [and I was in it], people would comment: ‘Why her?’ and that made me doubt myself,” she recalled.
Amber admitted she took the comments personally and that “it’s quite easy for such things to get into [her] head”.
Thankfully, the actress would get over them just as quickly and bounce back after a couple of days.
Criticism about her acting bother her the most. But if haters get personal and attack her looks, she would not hesitate to hit back.
“If I was feeling pretty and you called me ugly, I’d say: ‘Then I think you need to go for Lasik’,” laughed Amber.
“As long as you’re strong mentally, you don’t have to bother about what others say about you,” she averred.
