HK Actor Benny Chan Criticised For Visiting Temple Covered In Designer Brands, Including $2.2K Louis Vuitton Shirt

While some netizens feel his dressing is too flashy, the former TVB star says it’s the sincerity that counts.

Former TVB actor Benny Chan, who has been out of action after suffering a foot fracture in March, appears to be making good recovery.

The 54-year-old recently shared a video of himself visiting Lingyin Temple in Hangzhou on Douyin.

Though he had a crutch with him, Benny had little problem making his way up a flight of stairs to the temple.

When he reached the temple, he bowed three times outside the main hall before turning to pose for the camera.

Despite wearing a face mask and sunglasses, Benny, who was dressed head to toe in luxury brands, stood out amongst worshippers.

His dressing became a topic of discussion, from his S$2,190 Louis Vuitton baseball shirt to him wearing a cap to the temple.

While some netizens praised his hypebeast style, others found it too flashy for a place of worship and criticised him for “not being solemn”.

“Shouldn’t one remove their gold and silver [jewellery] when worshipping Buddha?” asked one netizen.

In response, Benny replied, “Sincerity is what matters.”

He sure likes his designer wear.
