Ulu Tiram attack: Only seven called up to help with probe so far, says Johor top cop

JOHOR BARU: The number of people called up to help in the investigation of Friday’s (May 17) attack on the Ulu Tiram police station remains at seven, says Johor police chief Comm M. Kumar.

“If there are any updates, we will share them. Until then, please give us some space to conduct the investigation,” he said in a statement on Monday (May 20).

The seven, who were arrested on Friday, comprise five family members of the suspect and two students from a higher learning institute.

Magistrate Hidayatul Syuhada Shamsuddin issued a seven-day remand order on them at the Seri Alam district police headquarters on Saturday (May 18).

In the 2.45am incident on Friday, two policemen – 22-year-old Konstabel Ahmad Azza Fahmi Azhar and Konstabel Muhamad Syafiq Ahmad Said, 24 – were killed by a lone wolf assailant at the Ulu Tiram station,

The attacker was later shot dead at the scene.
