A 10-year-old girl from Thailand has gone viral online for skillfully balancing her responsibilities as a diligent student and caring sister.
Earlier this month, a teacher posted an 18-second TikTok clip of the girl in class that quickly garnered widespread attention.
In it, the student, who goes by the nickname Green, can be seen cradling and bottle-feeding her one-year-old sister in one arm, while taking notes with the other.
The teacher, who goes by the handle Yingggz on Tiktok, explained that Green is the eldest sister in her family, and was tasked with taking care of her baby sister while their mum was out running errands.
In her caption, Yingggz wrote: “I don’t know how other teachers would feel [about this], but I always tell my students to not miss class no matter what.”
According to Thai media, Green attends Ban Klong Kaem Cham School in Prachin Buri, which is in central Thailand.
Green received plenty of praise, with netizens expressing admiration for Green’s ability to focus on her lesson while caring for her sibling. Many also commended her resilience.
Yingggz was also applauded for her empathy toward Green’s situation, and for encouraging the girl to attend school despite her challenging circumstances.
