Chow Yun Fat’s S$52Mil HK Mansion Becomes Latest Tourist Hotspot

First Aaron Kwok’s Happy Valley apartment home, then it was Andy Lau’s well-guarded abode.

Now it seems Hong Kong movie legend Chow Yun Fat’s Kowloon mansion is the latest must-visit tourist hotspot after a netizen posted a video about the property on social media.

Though the 69-year-old and his Singaporean wife Jasmine Tan have multiple properties across various locations in Hongkong, including The Peak, Silverstrand Beach and Mongkok, the Kowloon location now serves as the couple’s primary residence.

Allegedly bought for around HK$14.7mil (S$2.5mil) in the ’90s as an investment, it is reportedly worth HK$300mil (S$51.7mil) today.

In the video, the netizen said the immediate area is also home to famous people including Fat Gor’s God of Gamblers co-star and influential movie producer Charles Heung, and respected feng shui master, Li Jiuming.

We are guessing one can’t go wrong if a feng shui master is staying in the vicinity, right?

The late martial arts legend, Bruce Lee also owned a home nearby at 41 Cumberland Road and stayed for a year in 1972 before his death in 1973.

The property later became a love hotel before it was torn down in 2019.

This isn’t the first time Fat Gor’s Kowloon home has garnered interest.

Though the video simply showed the massive walls of the actor’s residence, a quick check online showed a modest-looking mansion surrounded by lush greenery.

Fans have commented that this perfectly reflects Fat Gor’s status as a “humble star”.

In fact, he was once seen doing some home repair work on a gate of the mansion after 2018’s devastating Typhoon Mangkut.

With Fat Gor and Jasmine having no children, the couple who is allegedly worth HK$5.6Bbil (S$965.1mil) have always maintained their wealth would be donated to charity upon their passing.
