Jay Chou Lookalike Holds Concert Tour Where The Most Expensive Seats Are Furthest From The Stage

Of all the stars we’ve featured, we can confidently say that Mandopop King Jay Chou, 45, holds the record for having the most doppelgangers. Just click herehere, and here.

But who knew you could make big bucks off being a celeb lookalike?

Jay impersonator Hei Lun — a play on Jay’s Chinese name Zhou Jie Lun — has become quite the Douyin sensation, thanks to his cover of Jay’s 2004 song ‘Stranded’ (搁浅).

Hei Lun, who boasts over one million followers on the platform, was lauded for perfectly mimicking Jay’s expressions and mannerisms.

He was recently seen performing to an enthusiastic crowd at a concert in Foshan, with audiences reportedly paying up to 2000 yuan (S$372) to watch him do his thing on stage.

“It’s not that we aren’t able to afford tickets to a Jay Chou concert, it’s just more cost-effective to attend [fake Jay’s] concert,” commented one netizen.

Hei Lun is still on tour, and will perform at various cities in China including Taiyuan, Xi An, and Xiamen.

Given the successful turnout, tickets for Hei Lun’s upcoming shows have seen a significant increase in price.

He performed in Suzhou last week, and ticket prices for that show were reported to range from 588 yuan (S$109) to 3888 yuan (S$725).

Unlike other concerts, the cheapest tickets will get you front-row views, while the most expensive tickets will see you seated furthest from the stage.

We suppose that makes sense, given that Hei Lun looks even more like Jay when you look at him from afar.

Netizens were tickled to find out about the pricing system, with one commenting: “The tickets for the last row are so expensive because [from that distance] he’s really going to resemble Jay.”

Hei Lun has become so popular, he even has fans asking him to bring his tour to Hong Kong.

A question to our readers: Would you attend a Hei Lun concert over a Jay Chou concert for less than half the price?

Which ticket would you purchase?
