Ex-director at S’pore College of TCM charged over allegedly taking upskirt pictures

SINGAPORE: A former director at the Singapore College of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) was handed multiple charges on Thursday (June 13) after he allegedly took upskirt pictures of at least eight women.

Liew Meng Fatt, 56, was charged with three counts of insulting the modesty of women and two counts of voyeurism.

The Singaporean is said to have committed the offences at two clinics between February 2019 and September 2022.

Details have been redacted from court documents, which also did not state why Liew was at the clinics.

The documents did not disclose if the women were staff members or patients.

A search of the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority records revealed that Liew was a director at the TCM college from May 2016 to May 2019.

According to court documents, he allegedly took upskirt photographs of two women at one of the clinics between Feb 2 and Dec 14, 2019.

He is accused of committing similar offences involving the other women until Sept 26, 2022.

His case has been adjourned to June 27.

For each count of insulting the modesty of women, an offender can be jailed for up to a year and fined.

For each count of voyeurism, an offender can be jailed for up to two years, fined, caned or given any combination of such punishments.

Liew cannot be caned as he is aged over 50. – The Straits Times/ANN
