Water supply disruption in Kuala Lumpur

KUALA LUMPUR: Parts of Kuala Lumpur is facing a water supply disruption due to a temporary shutdown of the Bukit Nanas Water Treatment Plant (Bukit Nanas WTP) on Friday (June 21).

The disruption occurred following an increased colouration in the treated water at Bukit Nanas WTP, which is currently under investigation.

“We are mobilising alternative assistance through water tankers to the affected areas, with priority given to critical premises,” said Air Selangor in a statement on Friday.

Air Selangor assured that it was making every effort to minimise the impact of the disruption on affected consumers.

Areas effected include Bukit Ceylon, Bukit Bintang, Chow Kit, Dang Wangi and Cap Square, Hampsire Park, Hospital Kuala Lumpur, Imbi, Kampung Baru, Kampung Datuk Keramat, Medan Tuanku, Pudu, Titiwangsa Sentral, and very areas in the Kuala Lumpur City Centre. Click here for the complete list.
