KK firemen pry open car door to save unconscious man

KOTA KINABALU: Firemen had to use special equipment to rescue a man who had passed out in his vehicle at a shopping mall carpark on Thursday (June 27) afternoon.

The Fire and Rescue Department was alerted to the situation at 12.35pm.

Sabah Fire and Rescue Department operations centre assistant chief Riki Mohan Singh Ramday said a four-person team reached the scene, some 6km from their station, at 12.44pm.

“The team had to use special tools to pry open the car door.

“The man, aged 30, was given first aid before being sent to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital 2 for treatment,” he said, adding that the operation ended at 1.05pm.
