Light aircraft makes emergency landing near Port Klang
PETALING JAYA: A light aircraft was forced to make an emergency landing near Port Klang.
The Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM) said that the Piper PA-28-161 aircraft made the landing at an open space near Port Klang on Thursday (June 27).
“The aircraft departed from the Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport at 2.50pm, carrying two passengers, and a Mayday call was received by the Subang Control Tower at 2.58pm,” it said in a statement on Thursday.
It added that its Kuala Lumpur Aeronautical Rescue Coordination Centre (KLARCC) has been activated at 3.10pm to coordinate rescue operations.
A statement regarding the emergency landing from the Selangor Fire and Rescue Department is expected to be released soon.
