Two-year-old male tiger caught in Perak

IPOH: The Perak Wildlife and National Parks Department caught a male tiger in Jalong, Sungai Siput.

The department’s director, Yusoff Shariff, said the animal, named “Yop Jalong”, was two years old and had entered a trap they set up on Wednesday morning (July 3).

“We set up the trap on June 20 following complaints from the villagers that a goat had been eaten by a tiger.

“We believe the tiger had entered the trap early this morning,” he said when contacted.

“The animal is healthy and is about 75kg,” he said, adding that the feline would be transported to the National Wildlife Rescue Centre in Sungkai.
