Development cost of Padu hub reaches RM85.27mil
PETALING JAYA: The total development cost of the Central Database Hub (Padu) for the implementation period between 2023 and 2025 is RM85.27mil.
“This cost includes equipment and ICT software, checking and verification services, publicity services and strategic communications,” said Economy Minister Rafizi Ramli (pic) in a parliamentary written reply dated Thursday (June 27).
He said this cost also covers the registration of users both online and offline.
Rafizi added that Padu has entered the second phase, which involves analysing and streamlining data of 10,544,016 individuals into the database.
This phase also includes determining household size, expenditure, net income and forming a “use case”.
Regarding the mechanism for targeted subsidies, he said the criteria for the use case are still being determined.
“The government will ensure a fair mechanism to identify beneficiary groups and minimise inclusion and exclusion errors,” he said.
He was responding to a question by Salamiah Mohd Nor (Perikatan Nasional-Temerloh) on the eligible recipients of targeted subsidies based on the Padu database.
