Cops collect DNA samples from Farah’s family

HULU SELANGOR: DNA samples from family members of Nur Farah Kartini Abdullah have been collected for forensic identification of the victim, says Comm Datuk Hussein Omar Khan.

The Selangor police chief said police are resorting to forensic identification as visual identification could not be done.

“We have taken samples from the victim’s mother and siblings.

“The forensic identification will take several days, and the body can only be released to the family once it is done. The process will be expedited,” he told reporters at Kampung Sri Keledang on Wednesday (July 17).

So far, police have recorded the statements of 26 individuals to assist with the investigation.

The victim’s body was found at a palm oil plantation in Kampung Sri Keledang, Hulu Selangor on July 15.

Nur Farah Kartini was reported missing in Tanjung Malim, Perak, on July 11.

She was reported missing after delivering a rental car to a customer at Taman Universiti, Tanjung Malim.

A policeman, believed to be her boyfriend, has since been detained and remanded for seven days.

The case is classified under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
