These Blue & White Slippers That You Wear In The Toilet Are Selling For S$1.6K In Saudi Arabia

Who wants to tell the wet market auntie that she can price her flip-flops higher now?

A pair of slippers in Saudi Arabia has gotten the Internet gawking at its 4.5k riyals (S$1.6K) price tag.

In a video shared by a netizen, the pair of “trendy” white sandals with blue straps was displayed a glass case and needed a glove-wearing salesperson to show off its comfortable-looking features.

Upon closer inspection, it looked no different from the pair sold at your local wet market.

In the background, green and red versions were also seen being displayed.

The video has since garnered 6.8mil views on Instagram.

It seems the audacity to price these slippers is not lost on netizens who couldn’t contain their amusement in the comments.

“We use these slippers in India to go to the toilet,” laughed a netizen.

Many who baulked at the price tag also shared that similar-looking pairs go for way cheaper in their own countries.

Another pointed out that maybe the pair in the videos “are not for wearing but for mothers to use on misbehaving children”.

A few came out to defend the hefty price tag saying that naysayers are just salty over missed a business opportunity.

“Buy low, sell high!” wrote a netizen while another praised the store for its brilliant marketing.

Wait, what? Is that pair of casual slippers going for S$1.6K?
No one is paying S$1.6K for flip flops.
