Albertine’s mum thanks cops and public, ready to go back to work with confidence

JOHOR BARU: The mother of six-year-old Albertine Leo Jia Hui has taken to social media to express her gratitude to the public and police for their help in bringing her daughter home safely.

In a post on Facebook on Friday (July 26), Leo Qieo Xin, 37, said she is now prepared to return to work, knowing that her daughter is safe.

“Thank you, netizens and friends, for sharing about my daughter’s disappearance. I am very grateful.

“I could now return to work with my mind at ease as my daughter is back in my arms. I would also like to thank the police for bringing my daughter home,” she said in the post in Mandarin.

As of late afternoon, the post under the name “Jesminleo” has received over 300 reactions.

Albertine was reported missing at around 8.30pm on Saturday (July 20) by her parents, who operated a booth at the Bon Odori Festival in a mall in Iskandar Puteri.

She was found 370km away in Batang Kali, Selangor, early on Tuesday (July 23) morning.

It was earlier reported that four of the suspects involved in her kidnapping have been released on police bail.

Iskandar Puteri OCPD Asst Comm M. Kumarasan confirmed that the remand order against the four suspects was not extended after it expired today.

The remand period of the fifth suspect, a 31-year-old man who was found with the victim in Batang Kali, will end on Tuesday (July 29).
