The world is united for Palestine, says Ahmad Zahid
KUALA LUMPUR: The divided world has now united for the Palestinian struggle, says Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
In his address at Axiata Arena in Bukit Jalil, here, he said it was no longer just about Palestine, but also a universal call for solidarity.
“Malaysians from all political parties, religions, races and ideologies are for Palestine. Our solidarity to support them and free Palestine.
“The people in Palestine, especially those from Gaza are depending on our support from Malaysians. We are confident in the leadership of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to free Palestine.
“The divided world has now been united, especially in realising that Hamas are not terrorists, they are resistance fighters,” he said at the pro-Palentinian rally on Sunday (Aug 4).
Ahmad Zahid also mentioned that he had met the late Ismail Haniyeh during his visits to Malaysia and had conveyed Malaysia’s to rebuild Palestine.
“Malaysia is not alone (in its support). We have seen Muslim and non-Muslim countries east and west with one heart.
“Malaysia should also be proud of our Prime Minister for being brave (in voicing out his support for Palentine). This is why Ismail passed on a message to Dewan Rakyat speaker Tan Sri Johari Abdul, asking for Anwar to continue raising the Palestine cause,” he said.
Ahmad Zahid added that Malaysia from all walks of life will continue their support for the independence of Palestine and against Israel.
