PM Anwar: Agencies handling bumiputra agenda must be responsible, accountable

PUTRAJAYA: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has warned agencies and bodies handling the bumiputra agenda to carry out their duties responsibly to ensure that it will achieve its intended goals.

The Prime Minister cautioned against “damaging” and misusing the agencies for personal gain and accumulation of wealth.

Anwar also assured that the other races will not be left behind following the government’s move to empower the community.

“That is why, among agencies that handle bumiputra matters, they can be considered the biggest traitor if they use it to enrich themselves instead of focusing on the main agenda to uplift the bumiputra agenda,” Anwar said.

He said this at the launch of the Bumiputra Economic Transformation Plan 2035 (Putera35) at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC) on Monday (Aug 19).

Putera35 is supported by three core areas, 12 growth drivers, and 132 more comprehensive initiatives in advancing bumiputra development.
