MMEA conducts medical evacuation for toddler from Johor island
MERSING: The Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) carried out a medical evacuation (Medevac) for a child from Pulau Aur with breathing difficulties to seek treatment at Mersing Hospital on Tuesday (Aug 20) afternoon.
Mersing Maritime zone director Maritime Commander Suhaizan Saadin said the Mersing district health office requested assistance to bring the toddler, Wan Nur Atira Wan Muhamad Afifudin, who is two years and eight months old, to the hospital after initial treatment at Pulau Aur health clinic.
“The patient was transferred to a Malaysian Maritime boat from Pulau Aur health clinic at 2pm and arrived at Shahbandar Mersing Jetty an hour later, before being taken to the hospital by ambulance,” he said in a statement today. – Bernama
