Foreign Ministry monitoring situation in Russia, urges Malaysians to stay alert
KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia’s Foreign Ministry, through its embassy in Moscow, is closely monitoring the recent drone attacks in Moscow and other developments in the Kursk region.
“We will continue to assess the situation to ensure the safety of Malaysians (in Russia),” it said in a statement on Thursday (Aug 22).
Malaysians residing in or visiting affected areas are advised to remain vigilant and follow safety guidelines issued by local authorities.
“Stay informed through reliable news sources and maintain communication with the Embassy of Malaysia in Moscow,” read the statement.
Malaysians in Moscow and the Kursk region are urged to register their presence via https://ekonsular.kln.gov.my or with the nearest Malaysian diplomatic mission.
This registration is crucial for receiving timely information and assistance if needed, added the statement.

International media reported that Moscow experienced one of the largest drone attacks since the beginning of the conflict with Ukraine.
