LHDN says 60 audits done on GISB in previous assessment years

PETALING JAYA: A total of 60 audits have been conducted on Global Ikhwan Services and Business Holdings (GISB) as well as related entities in previous assessment years, says the Inland Revenue Board (LHDN).

It added in a statement on Monday (Sept 30) that it has issued fines to GISB for failing to pay taxes.

“The compound and penalties have been paid. Surveillance on the compliance of GISB in paying taxes is ongoing as is with other taxpayers. No special treatment was given,” it said.

The LHDN was responding to a statement by the police in which Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain had said that GISB had not paid taxes for the current assessment year.

On Sept 11, police rescued 402 children, comprising 201 boys and 201 girls, aged between one and 17, from the 20 care homes in Selangor and Negri Sembilan in a rescue operation codenamed Ops Global.

An investigation is ongoing into allegations that the children were abused, exploited and sexually assaulted.

A total of 171 suspects aged between 17 and 64 were arrested, including a teacher and dorm caretakers.
