Ex K-pop Idol Song Ji Eun Marries Paraplegic YouTuber

On Thursday (Oct 9), Korean star Song Ji Eun, a member of now-defunct K-pop girl group Secret, officially became Mrs Park.

According to reports, the 34-year-old tied the knot with paraplegic YouTuber Park We, 37, at a private outdoor wedding ceremony in Gangnam, Seoul.

From the photos, Ji Eun wore a simple and classy white wedding gown while Park We looked dapper in a black tuxedo.

The wedding was graced by many of the bride’s celebrity pals, such as South Korean host Jun Hyun Moo, who was the emcee, singer Insooni, who performed, as well as her former bandmates Jun Hyoseong and Jung Hana.

The last member of Secret Han Sunhwa, who allegedly fell out with the group, was MIA.

Though it’s not known how long Ji Eun and Park We have been together, Ji Eun made the relationship public last year and also revealed that they met at church.

At that time, Ji Eun said it was love at first sight.

She said she felt very amazed when she first saw Park We, and immediately developed feelings for him. As for Park We, he said Ji Eun glowed like a star the moment he laid eyes on her.

Since then, the couple has made several public appearances together. When Ji Eun was asked if Park We’s condition has brought inconvenience to her life, she sweetly replied: “As long as I’m walking with him, all the roads are level and smooth.”

Park We, who used to be a footballer, became paralysed from the neck down after falling three-meters from a building in 2014.

According to reports, Park We was drunk when the accident happened. He had been out celebrating a new job offer with his friends.

The accident left him almost completely paralysed, and doctors said it would be a miracle if he could ever move his arms again.

Park We, however, did not give up.

Though it took him two years to even move his left thumb, Park We is now able to do push-ups and even attempt pull-ups.

He also started his YouTube channel WERACLE (a portmanteau of his name ‘We’ and ‘Miracle’) to encourage disabled people like him as well as shine light on how someone who is wheelchair-bound can still live a full life.
