‘Real friends are hard to find,’ says Najib

SHAH ALAM: It is hard to find true friends, especially those who are willing to stand by you in times of trouble, says former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak

In a Facebook post, he noted that many individuals are fairweather friends, only there when times are good and putting on a facade, reported Sinar Harian.

“Life is full of lessons. In today’s challenging times, there are also moments of sweetness and appreciation,” he wrote on Wednesday (Oct 31).

On that same day, the High Court ordered Najib to defend himself against four cases involving allegations of using his position to elicit bribes of nearly RM2.3bil from 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) funds, as well as 21 charges of money laundering related to the same amount.

Judge Datuk Collin Lawrence Sequerah declared this decision after determining that the prosecution had successfully established a prima facie case at the conclusion of their presentation.

The former Umno president expressed gratitude to everyone who supported him and waited for the outcome of his case.

“There are many supporters and ordinary people who appreciate my contributions and miss the policies of the previous administration.

“Sincerely, this is what true friendship means. May the bonds we share in this world endure and serve as blessings in the afterlife,” he added.
