Rivers in eight states exceed dangerous levels
PETALING JAYA: Water levels at eight rivers in TERENGGANU breached the dangerous mark on Sunday (Dec 1), says the Drainage and Irrigation Department.
The rivers are Sungai Telemong in Hulu Terengganu; Parit Utama in Padang Kamunting (F1) and Sungai Nerus in Kuala Nerus; Sungai Marang in Jambatan Pengkalan Berangan and Jambatan Pengkalan Berangan (F2), Marang; Sungai Terengganu along Muzium Terengganu in Kuala Terengganu; Sungai Dungun at Jambatan Jerangau in Dungun; and Sungai Kemaman along Rumah Pam Paya Paman in Kemaman.
According to information from the Drainage and Irrigation Department’s Public InfoBanjir portal, water levels are also rising.
In KEDAH, water levels at four rivers breached the dangerous mark.
They are Sungai Bata and Sungai Padang Terap in Kubang Pasu; while in Kota Setar, they are Sungai Anak Bukit at Jambatan TAR and Taman Aman.
In JOHOR, water levels at Sungai Muar along Buloh Kasap, Jeti Kg Tekap and Kg Awat breached dangerous levels, with Sungai Tangkak also recording the same along Kg. Seri Ma’amor, Tangkak.
In KELANTAN, Sungai Golok in Pasir Mas; Sungai Semerak in Pasir Puteh and Sungai Golok in Tumpat breached dangerous levels.
In PAHANG, water levels at Sungai Lipis and Sungai Kechau, both in Lipis, breached dangerous levels.
Water levels at Sungai Bidor along Changkat Jering, Hilir Perak in PERAK also recorded dangerous water levels and continue to rise.
In MELAKA, Sg. Kesang at Rumah Pam Telok Rimba (F2), Jasin breached dangerous levels.
Water levels at Daro in Mukah, SARAWAK also breached the dangerous mark.
