There are two types of stars in Hong Kong.
Those like Heavenly King Jacky Cheung, who, at 62, will still commit to doing perfect splits at his concerts to wow his fans.
And those like Hong Kong girl group Twins.
Gillian Chung, 43, and Charlene Choi, 41, who enjoyed a resurgence in popularity after taking part in 2022’s Sisters Who Make Waves 3, are currently busy with their Twins SPIRIT Since 2001 Live Around The World tour.
Their devoted fans have been sharing clips of their concerts on social media.
Here’s the thing: While their fans have been raving about the performances, we can’t help but notice how sluggish Charlene and Gillian look during their dance numbers?
It’s like they were simply going through the motions, especially Gillian, who appeared unenthusiastic in every clip.
For one of the numbers that required the girls to dance with a fan, Gillian, who seem to have forgotten how to smile, looked like she had forgotten her choreography. She stumbled multiple times, falling out of sync with Charlene.
Netizens were unimpressed and one even outrightly scolded the girls for being “so f*****g lazy”.
Gillian wasn’t spared from fat-shaming comments too.
“She looks like she gained weight again, but Charlene still looks so good,” read one comment.
Was that really necessary though?
