Grandmas In China Seen Crawling Under Gantry To Avoid Paying Train Fares
A group of elderly Chinese women have come up with a really terrible, yet really funny way to avoid paying for their transport.
A group of 10 elderly grandmas are seen in a video getting down on all-fours in front of several metro gantries. One by one, they scamper as fast as old women can under the gantry doors to evade paying their fares.
A few were seen using the gantry door to hoist themselves back up after passing through, truly showing their commitment to keeping their transport expenses low.
A female bystander, possibly a staff of the train station, was heard telling the group: “You can’t do that auntie. You have to buy tickets!
The elderly ladies did not care what that woman had to say. They just walked off casually, as though it was part of their daily routine.
The scene was reported to have taken place at a Metro station in Hangzhou, China.
According to a rep from the Metro, though they have yet to receive any complaints on the incident, but a staff from the station will “deal with the matter”.
Netizens were amused by the group’s antics, with some saying that the geriatrics “still looked very strong”, and “are not to be messed with”.
One even joked that the elderly women were “escaping from the nursing home”.
According to several comments, those above the age of 60 are allowed to take public transport for free in most cities in China. Which begs the question: Were these elderly ladies just doing it for the thrill?
