Guest and staff safe, operations unaffected following landslide outside Resorts World Genting

PETALING JAYA: The guest and staff including operations at Resorts World Genting (RWG) remain safe and unaffected following a landslide that occurred at Jalan Ion Delemen on Friday morning.

In a statement, Resorts World Genting said: “Our emergency response teams were immediately dispatched to assist and are working closely with Polis Diraja Malaysia and Jabatan Bomba dan Penyelamat Malaysia to manage the situation and ensure a coordinated response. The safety and well-being of all affected individuals remain our utmost priority.

“We assure that guests and staff in RWG are safe and our operations in RWG remain unaffected and fully accessible on the Genting Main Road.

The following landslide had blocked both sides of the roads in the area.

“The police confirm that no loss of life or property has been reported. Works to clear the roads were conducted and completed at 2pm on Friday, with access resumed for all vehicles.

“Both the authorities and the Genting Highland security team will continue to monitor the area,” said Bentong OCPD Supt Zaiham Mohd Kahar.

A landslide occurred outside Resorts World Genting at Jalan Ion Delemen at approximately 2.30am Friday (Jan 17).
