Man slapped wife for late return from chicken rice errand, say cops

SEPANG: A woman was slapped by her husband in Kota Warisan recently because she was late leaving a shopping mall after buying chicken rice.

Sepang OCPD Asst Comm Norhizam Bahaman stated that the suspect was arrested on Saturday (Feb 1) and remanded for three days for further investigation.

According to the Sinar Harian report, he mentioned that the remand application was approved by the Telok Datok Magistrate’s Court in Kuala Langat starting Sunday (Feb 2)

“The suspect is believed to have been sleeping in the car during his disappearance when tracked by the police.

“Investigations revealed that during the incident, the victim was believed to be buying chicken rice inside the shopping mall. “The victim’s delay in leaving allegedly angered the suspect, leading him to slap her,” he said.

Previously, a 29-second video went viral showing a woman walking out of a shopping mall holding a plastic package, before a man approached her and slapped her in public.

Following the viral incident, the man took his wife and child to sleep in Nilai, Negeri Sembilan, before sending them home.
