Come celebrate country’s cultural heritage at Sarong Music Run tomorrow, PM invites M,sians

KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has invited the public to come together and celebrate Malaysia’s rich and unique cultural heritage in a harmonious setting at the Malaysia Sarong Music Run 2025 at the Petronas Twin Towers (KLCC) on Saturday (Feb 8).

He said, in a Facebook post Friday (Feb 7), that the involvement of every generation and race in this country can elevate and promote its cultural heritage, in line with the spirit of Madani Malaysia.

“Insya-Allah, we meet tomorrow at the Malaysia Sarong Music Run 2025!

“This event not only reflects Malaysia’s cultural diversity but also strengthens unity, in line with the organisation of Asean 2025 and Visit Malaysia 2026,” he said.

Malaysia Sarong Music Run 2025 is a vibrant event bringing together people of all ages to promote active lifestyles while showcasing Malaysia’s rich tourism offerings.

This unique run highlights the nation’s cultural diversity through scenic routes, cultural performances, traditional music and culinary showcases, celebrating Malaysia’s heritage and unity in a lively, inclusive atmosphere.

The event, powered by Keretapi Sarong, Locco, highlights the culture of Malaysia’s 14 states, featuring performances such as Dikir Barat and Wau Bulan (Kelantan), Kuda Kepang (Johor), Tarian Sumazau (Sabah), traditional Malay dances from various states, and other showcases that celebrate the cultural heritage of Malaysia.

It also promotes traditional dishes from all 14 states, such as Rendang Tok (Perak), Pasembor (Penang), Nasi Ambeng (Johor), Patin Tempoyak and Sambal Hitam (Pahang), Nasi Dagang (Terengganu) and many other traditional dishes representing the uniqueness of each state. – Bernama
