Video of robbers breaking into a home before they were shot dead is real, says cops

KUALA LUMPUR: A video depicting four robbers entering a house in Desa Vita, Sepang, before three of them were shot dead early Friday morning (March 14) has gained viral attention on social media.

Based on CCTV footage, the suspects were seen entering the house through the back fence at about 1.41am.

However, after barely a minute, all four suspects fled the scene once the home security alarm was triggered. They were seen fleeing just as they had entered the compound, with three of them taking refuge in the nearby woods.

The same three robbers were then reportedly shot by the police.

Earlier, Bukit Aman Deputy Criminal Investigation Department (CID) director Deputy Comm Datuk Fadil Marsus said the three robbers, all foreigners, were responsible for 17 robberies and house break-ins in Selangor Kuala Lumpur and Negri Sembilan. They were shot dead after they attacked a CID team who attempted to apprehend them.

“The victim acted fast in contacting the police after seeing the masked and armed robbers entering his home.

“A CID team took decisive action in hunting down the suspects before cornering them in the woods near a water tank,” he said.

Sepang OCPD Asst Comm Norhizam Bahaman confirmed the viral recording was from the CCTV installed at a victim’s house in Desa Vista.
