Recently, a video surfaced of a fistfight that broke out at one of the building’s bus lanes. It showed two men pushing, punching and shouting at one another. Several individuals were also seen diffusing the tense situation.
Did the quarrel in the video really happen?
Verdict:
TRUE
Johor Baru South OCPD Asst Comm Raub Selamat confirmed that the incident took place at the bus lane going into Singapore at the BSI early Thursday (April 10) morning.
He said the police received a report from a 21-year-old local man, one of the individuals involved in the incident, at around 7am the same day.
“Preliminary investigations suggest that the fight was triggered by an individual cutting the queue, which escalated tensions into a physical altercation.
“The suspect has not yet filed a report and has not been identified,” he said, adding that the case was being investigated under Section 160 of the Penal Code.
ACP Raub advised the public not to circulate the video of the incident to avoid speculation that could interfere with the investigation.
He also urged anyone with information regarding the incident to come forward and assist with the investigation by contacting the Johor Baru South police district hotline at 07-2182222.
ACP Raub assured the public that their safety remains a top priority, and further updates will be provided once the investigation is complete.
