Malaysians advised to postpone all non-essential travel to India

PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian High Commission in New Delhi urges the postponement of all non-essential travel to India, especially to Indian states bordering Pakistan.

In a statement Wednesday (May 7), the High Commission said this includes travels for holidays or other non-urgent purposes.

“In view of the recent escalation between India and Pakistan, in which India launched Operation Sindoor on Pakistan on May 7, the High Commission strongly advises the prompt postponement of all non-essential travels,” the statement read.

It also urged Malaysians in the affected areas who have yet to register with the High Commission to email [email protected].

For consular assistance, Malaysians may contact the High Commission via the following channels:

General Line / Ops Room: +91-11 2415 9300 / +91-11 2415 9311

Duty Officer: +91-85955 59564 (4.30pm to 8am)

“The safety and well-being of Malaysians remains our top priority. Please stay informed and exercise caution at all times,” the High Commission said.
