A woman from Korea has earned praise for how she handled her baby’s first flight.
She and her four-month-old were on a 10-hour flight from Seoul to San Francisco. As we all know, being stuck with a crying infant on a plane is a real nightmare.
However, this mum came prepared. She gave out over 200 goodie bags each with candy, snacks and earplugs to her fellow passengers.
There was also a note attached written from the baby boy’s perspective.
It read: “Today I am going to the US with my mum and grandma to see my aunt. I’m a little bit nervous because it’s my first flight, which means that I may cry or make too much noise. I will try to be quiet, though I can’t make any promises. Please excuse me.”
Thankfully the baby was a real trooper and remained quiet throughout the long-haul flight.
Though the incident happened a few years ago, it only recently went viral when a passenger on the flight shared the photos.
While the mother received overwhelming praise for being considerate, many also felt she did not have to go to such lengths because, well, babies cry.
“Mothers shouldn’t have to apologise for their babies crying at all. These are infants, and crying is the only way they know how to express hunger or discomfort,” said one netizen.
Others feel that passengers could afford to have more empathy, so mums don’t have to deal with the extra pressure on top of the stress that already comes with looking after a baby.
