MACC gets three-day remand extension on land broker in RM3.8mil graft probe

SEREMBAN: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has obtained a remand extension from the Magistrate’s Court here on a broker suspected of using a land title with falsified details to obtain RM3.8mil, the proceeds of a land sale.

On Monday (Aug 11), Magistrate Nurul Saqinah Rosli allowed an application from the MACC to remand the suspect, in his 40s, for a further three days.

The suspect was initially under remand from Aug 5 until today.

He was detained on Aug 4 when he turned up at the MACC office here to give his statement on the matter.

The land, in Lenggeng near here, belonged to another individual.

When contacted at the time of the suspect’s arrest, Negri Sembilan MACC chief Awgkok Ahmad Taufik Putra Awg Ismail confirmed the investigation under Section 18 of the MACC Act 2009.
