Five roads in KL to close for Selangor vs Singapore match on Sept 27
KUALA LUMPUR: Five major roads in the city will be closed in conjunction with the Sultan of Selangor Cup 2025 football match between Selangor and Singapore, which will take place at Stadium Merdeka on Saturday (Sept 27).
Kuala Lumpur deputy police chief Deputy Comm Datuk Mohamed Usuf Jan Mohamed said the match is scheduled to kick off at 9pm, with road closures and traffic diversions beginning from 2pm until the end of the game.
He said a total of 115 Kuala Lumpur Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department (JSPT) officers and personnel would be deployed to ensure smooth traffic flow and public safety, including for supporters attending the match.
“Several road closures and diversions will be implemented in stages at main routes, namely Jalan Maharajalela (Bulatan Merdeka), Jalan Hang Tuah (entry towards Jalan Hang Jebat), Jalan Hang Jebat, Jalan Stadium and Jalan Merdeka.
“Road users are advised to plan their journey in advance and obey all traffic signages as well as instructions from police personnel on duty,” he said in a statement on Tuesday (Sept 23).
DCP Mohamed Usuf also urged the public to use public transport to get to Stadium Merdeka to ease traffic congestion in the city centre.
